Chomp Chomp

This little one got another tooth today. #4 is well on its way too. So many teeth! No more gum smiles :(

Clearly they're celebrating her pearly whites in that picture.

My little girl is growing so fast...I don't want to forget any of it (:

My life

Sometimes I look at the two little people playing on the floor in my living room and think,

wow, they're really mine? I have two kids? Two little mini mixes of chan and I?

It's crazy. I wrote a letter to myself 4 years ago in high school wondering about what my life in 2013 would look like. What dog I would have and what state I lived in. Never in a million years would I have believed that I would have two kids! And no dog... Hahaha

I am so happy and so glad my life turned out the way it did. It's nice to step back and just take it all in some times. Life goes by in a whirl of diapers and naps and giggles with two little's ones. I know these moments are precious, and I sure do love them (:

This weekend...

This weekend chan played for Molly Hunt at the hoedown. It was incredible. I love seeing him do what he loves. he's crazy talented that boy of mine (:

After all the practices and long nights we got to finally relax today. We decided to go to our favorite spot, Zola's Cafe, for breakfast. It was the first time we've been with both kids. We have been so many times with Kingston and it was a big deal to finally be back with the newest Welling.

And as you can see, Arizona was pretty excited about eating (or sucking on) her first apple. You should have heard her yell at Kingston when he took it away haha!

All in all good weekend. Now time to organize and pack up for Parker's wedding in Nashville!

Busy busy bees over here...

Today

Today was long. Lots of things went wrong, but these 2 always make it better.

Also, can we talk about those rolls for a second?! The. Best.

Two littles

I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't nervous about what life was going to be like once we brought Arizona home. Would Kingston like her as much as he did my belly? Would he be jealous and angry at us? Will I still have that special time with my little man while caring for this new little girl?

Being home as a family of four has exceeded my expectations and has surprised me at how not crazy it is. Granted, I do have chandler home all week and he has been super hero dad. But I heard horror stories (and I mean horror stories) about what bringing home number 2 could be like so I was prepared for the worst. Thankfully Kingston has been in heaven this week having his dada home all day playing those crazy games he loves. Its like the weekend all week! i'm sure he is thinking. But all in all it is calm and fun and just kind of exciting.

A special mention to Chandler for being super hero mom and dad while I rest up. He cleans, plays with babies, watches Arizona while kingston and i play, and is constantly telling me to go nap while he holds down the fort. Super. Hero.

Arizona is such a docile sweet baby. I literally think she may be an angel. Kingston wasn't the easiest newborn so I wasn't sure what to expect this time around. She sleeps through everything (and I mean Kingston cooking num nums in his pots and pans EVERYTHING), eats really well, never cries, and is just so content and happy. We are in LOVE. Even if she were the crankiest baby around she's got enough cuteness to cover it.

And these two littles together... My hurt can't take it! Kingston adores her, never forgets she's around and asks about her constantly. He always wants to hold her and kiss her and pretend to eat her (: when we took her to the drs yesterday he wailed, crying out for his bebe as they weighed and checked her out. Already so protective of his little sister. I am so proud of how he took to being a big brother. No resentment or jealousy just pure love and adoration for his little sister. He is incredible.

I know this isn't normal everyday life yet, and I am still curious how its going to work just me and the two littles during the day, but right now it is perfect.

I am so thankful to God for these two incredible blessings he's given us. I couldn't ask for more.

Big brother

Kingston has started coming up to me and lifting up my shirt to see my belly. He then asks me to talk to the baby girl and brings his toys to push on my belly and show her. Then he gives my belly a bunch of kisses. I don't know how he knows, but he truly does and it completely melts me. He is going to be the best big brother.

A post I want to remember

My sweet 17 month old.. Can't believe how fast you've grown and how much you've learned! I will always cherish cuddling down for naps together and the way you say "momma" and rub my arm when you're sleepy. You are my world now and forever my sweet baby boy <3

Little bug walking

Of course our good camera's sd card was full when he started walking so here are some screenshots I took from the video of him walking on my phone (:

I was so happy, I was light headed when he started giggling and walking to me. Such an incredible feeling! I'm so proud of him. he is learning so much.

That last one cracks me up because he looks like he's dancing. I will definitely use the canon today to get a clearer shot and put that up.

He is so big <3

Sleep training

We're training Kingston to sleep through the night this week. He is so used to nursing at night I was anticipating it to be really hard. It actually hasn't been too bad! When he wakes up at 2 he likes to talk to himself and whine for an hour or two though lol chan gets a kick out of him touching his face and saying "dadadada" (: but he is gradually learning how to put himself back to sleep each night which is all chan and I really wanted. today will be night 6 of sleep training. The roughest will probably be what starts tomorrow (no cuddling when they wake up). Although I expected him to have a really hard time with it up until now, which he surprisingly hasn't so here's to hoping the rest goes as well!

Words

I want to remember the words Kingston first starts saying so here is a list of what I can remember him saying so far (: (some more often than others)

Dadda
Momma
Thank you
Bubba
Baby
Dong (a game he plays with daddy)
Bob
Ball
Dog
Buh bye
Uh oh
Yay

That's what I can remember right now.
He is definitely an early talker > walker kinda baby haha.

July 20, 2011

Today I read an amazing blog from http://goodmorningvietmom.com/ and it inspired me to write my own blog (or continue it) about motherhood and what God is teaching me. I should preface this by saying a lot of the time I have no idea what I'm doing. I've read tons of books and keep myself in the know about what to expect and do but as most mom's will tell you what works one day doesn't always work the next. So I tend to try to just go with the flow and trust my instincts as a far as parenting goes. I am just discovering everything for the first time and wanted a way to share what I am learning. Maybe it can help someone else. If anything it will help me just by simply getting my thoughts down. The trials and triumphs of my life with a baby which has turned my life UPSIDE DOWN but has also brought me more joy than I ever knew could exist.

Today, for example, was the first day I really heard Kingston laugh. My heart about burst and my eyes welled up. I had never experienced quite a feeling like that. That sweet innocent sound coming out of my favorite little person in the universe. It was magical.

Many times, however, I find myself praying to God for patience and wisdom while I try to stop my body from overheating as I walk around a screaming, tired baby asking Jesus to please let him go down for his nap. Like I said, what works one day...

Patience and peace are my top prayers lately. Peace of mind that I'm doing the right thing by Kingston and patience to be able to calm myself down and be wise about my decisions. I'm trying to read my Bible more, since I haven't been getting much of the word lately. I can't even remember the last time I got to sit through a whole church service. I'm sure I was pregnant. There are a lot of things I should do but I find myself being so tired that in the free moments I do have I just want to veg out. But I'm determined not to let that consume my free time anymore.

There are a lot of things I am trying to better, starting with the above. I know if I ask God he will help me. So here is the start of a very honest, little blog pt. II about my life raising Kingston.

The baby bun is here!!!

I found this on my computer, I wrote it just 5 days after Kingston was born.  Hard to believe that was 6 weeks ago! That was such an overwhelmingly emotional week. You just get flooded with this incomprehensible amount of love that just takes over everything! This overwhelming love for my son, and a new, incredible kind of love for my husband. You think you love someone with all your heart to begin with and then you have a child together and it just takes it to this whole new place. So incredible.

Kingston is such a joy to my life, my heart and soul <3 I have such an amazing little family of 3, it's the best thing in the WORLD. Anyways, here was my blog:

"Oh my word. I am writing this now with my little boy napping ever so sweetly ON MY CHEST. What an amazing amazing feeling.
I can't believe he's actually here. Kingston is 5 days old today. He is the most amazing, wonderful, perfect little human being and I am soooo in love and HAPPY. baby blues? I am ecstatic!  My life is already so much more enriched because he's in it and Chan and I are literally so overwhelmed with love for him.
Now that he's here, seeing pictures of my pregnant belly give me so much joy. So that's what was in there. That's who I talked to and rubbed and carried with me. Who kicked me and squirmed around night and day. What a miracle.
He is so precious to me. I could not love anything more. I am so so so incredibly thankful he's healthy and happy and blessed with this amazing family of mine.
What a perfect little life I get to take care of. What an AMAZING and supportive husband I have, and what an incredible, loving God I live for.
I feel blessed beyond measure. God is SO good. My life feels so complete <3 "

Reading through this blog again I can't help noticing how many times I use words like "incredible, amazing, joy". There just aren't enough ways to completely and effectively describe how having Kingston has changed my life in such a great way. I remember writing it I was searching for a way to express how utterly perfect and wonderful it felt like and I just couldn't find the words.

I love this life God gave me :) I could not be more thankful or happier for the way things turned out.
